Criminal Minds: Season 3

This continues to be an enjoyable addition to the collection of US procedurals I enjoy, and it’s one of the few I watch each week rather than just waiting for a box set at the end of the season.

It’s an indication of the strength of the ensemble that they managed to replace Mandy Patinkin who would have seemed to be the star of the show without really losing any momentum or coherence. I do miss Patinkin and don’t feel Mantegna’s character is as strong, but he has managed to slot in and bring something new.

The plots once again get personal a little too often, I much prefer the more standard episodes which sneak in character development between the plot. However the expansion of Garcia’s character was very welcome, even if it was a ridiculous plot.
