Heroes: Season 1

It’s a comic book on tv, but it’s so much more than that. The comic book elements add a very artistic sheen to all the shots but also provide a different type of structure and pacing that makes this show stand in a different league to other tv shows. The arc is so carefully planned that you never lose faith that the writers know exactly what is going to happen. It’s so important to avoid spoilers for this show as the twists are beautifully done and when you realise where things are going there’s a real flash.

I love everything about this series; the characters are alive, the writing is sparky and the story convoluted yet simple. I was nervous about the resolution but it was a wonderful ending with a brief introduction to the next ‘volume’ which relieved some of my fears that it might be a one season wonder.
