Life on Mars: Season 1

It’s possible I’m the last person in Britain to watch this, so I’d already been raved at about it for a couple of years before finally picking up the dvd. This meant that as with most things, I didn’t really understand what the fuss was about. I think it’s a great series – it’s an interesting and different idea with a nicely polished script and some engaging acting. But it’s not the best thing since sliced bread that I’d come to expect. At an hour long I found each episode a bit of a slog and often wanted to slap Sam about the head and shout “move on” in a very unsympathetic way. Very entertaining and clever, but maybe over hyped a smidge.
